Standard User Access to Third-Party Apps in QuickBooks Online

I cannot be granted admin-level access in QuickBooks Online, but I need to use third-party apps. Does anybody have a workaround for this?

(Apologies if this is a duplicate post.)

Standard User Access to Third-Party Apps in QuickBooks Online

Hi there, @EviaEventsAccountin.

Standard users have different levels of access to QuickBooks. They're only limited to the specific areas granted to them when the user profile was set up.

Only the master admin and company admin have access to this feature in QBO. It would be best to reach out to the person who set up your QBO access and add the application on this account.

To know more about the different user types and levels of access in QBO, you can check out this article: User types and user permissions in QuickBooks.

Thank you for the response, Reymond.

Just to put this out there for Intuit: it makes no sense to have these limitations. Third-party apps should expand the functionality of QuickBooks, and restricting their access to admins only reduces their usefulness.

Raymond ,

You never address this customers actual question.  Admins set the rights to 3rd party apps and thats understood,

They are asking if Non admin users can have access to the massive trove of 3rd party apps for QuickBooks and if the admin can set the user to allow this.   I think the development community needs an answer.  Can Non admin users access 3rd party apps in any way.  I think the customer was very polite.   I thin Intuit needs to allow the thousands of PAYING  users to have access to 3rd party apps as non admins ( once authorized) .

Is it clear to your incoming ( unsuspecting )  customers that you have no way to let non admin users make use of 3rd party apps?  The "elephant in the room"  needs to be addressed.

Thanks for chiming in on this thread, SteveAccuware.

At the moment, non-admin users don't have access to the Apps feature as what my colleague ReymondO shared above. You can send a product suggestion to our developers. They'll review this idea and might consider updating it in the future.

To send feedback, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear located at the top.
  2. Under Profile, click Feedback.

If you want to check the status of your request, you can click this link: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.

To learn more about the user roles and their access rights, please feel free to read this article: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

If you have any additional questions or need help with other concerns, please let me know in your reply. I'll be around to help you out some more. Take care and stay safe!

@SteveAccuware

I don't know which 3rd app the original poster need to use. Afaik, as a non-Admin user, you can still login directly to third-party apps and work from there. There are some 3rd party apps that you have to login as Admin on QBO to use because you are using both apps to sync at the same time (e.g migration tool).
