Sync with Square Hub (re-import transactions)

I used the automated sales tax center to import (past) Square transactions only to find it does not support multiple tax rate structures (Meal, 2 variable sales use). I was able to turn off the automated Sales Tax and configure it correctly (I think) but I want to purge all imported transactions and re-import them. Can this be done & how (specifics)? From what I can tell the following accounts may be affected:


Default accounts and names
Note: Any changes in the default account types that are listed will interrupt the connection with the app.
Square Gift Card
(Other current liabilities > Other current liabilities)
Square Tips
(Other current liabilities > Other current liabilities)
Square Income
(Income > Sales of Product income)
Square Fees
(Expenses > Bank Charges)

You can purge the account if you signed up within 90 days. Note: All data entered into the company will be deleted and can no longer be restored.

It seems like a drastic step (nuclear option) to completely start fresh after investing considerable time already. There is no way to simply alter/delete/recreate those accounts specifically associate with imported Square transactions? 


Better possible solutions:

  1. Re-import all (past) Square transactions (Sync with Square) and overwrite previous transactions (automated sales tax) with corrected manual sales tax accounts (corrected)
  2. Purge all Square related accounts and transactions, recreate those accounts and re-import the transactions.
  3. IF there is absolutely no other way than to purge the company, is there a ways to backup and restore only company accounts/data (not transactions).

Time is of the essence, so one way or another I want to proceed with a solution.

Appreciate your response and providing better possible solutions.


I know it will take time to sort everything out. Sync with Square is built not to re-import transactions. This is designed to eliminate possible duplicates.


To help us resolve the issue, you can export Chart of Account List, Customer List and other list then purge your data and re-import those list into your QuickBooks Online account. From there, you can reconnect your Square Account.


To Export All list, here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select All Lists.
  3. Choose a specific list that you want to export.
