Join nowHi there! I have a question about tracking our subcontractor time and material for our annual 1099s. We have two accounts associated with subcontractors - Subcontractors (time) and Subcontractors (material). Right now, Subcontractors is the only account that is associated with 1099s. When we create the 1099s, QB asks us about the Subcontractor Material, but we have to manually add it as opposed to it keeping track throughout the year (I hope I'm explaining this right!).
How do I link both of our subcontractor accounts to the 1099 tracking for each year? Thank you!!

We'll have to map the accounts you've used for the two entries to link them to their 1099, OfficeMgr3336.
You can do this by going to the 1099 Wizard window. Let me guide you with these steps:
Afterwards, you can run the 1099 Detail Report to show these information. Here's how:
There you have it, OfficeMgr3336. I'm just around the corner if you have additional concerns in mapping the accounts.
Good afternoon, @OfficeMgr3336.
You can set up Contractors in QuickBooks Desktop to track your payments, so year-end filings are a breeze. Since you have two subcontractors, both accounts will have to have 1099s if you've paid them $600 or more within a given year. I've included the steps below:
Now your Contractors will be able to receive their 1099s. You can also check out this article about setting up contractors for more information.
Feel free to drop a line below if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help.
Hi Anna,
Thank you so much for responding to my inquiry! I'm still needing help, though - I have no issues tracking my subcontractors eligibility for 1099, it's that when we go to run our 1099 report it only picks up on Subcontractors NOT Subcontractor's material - we separate our sub's labor and time in 2 different accounts.
I hope this makes more sense and I can certainly elaborate if need be!
