Unrecoverable error code 17847 75149

Hello, @Odrummond.

Thanks for bringing this matter to my attention. I’m here to help fix the issue, so you can work on your company file smoothly.

There are several possible reasons for an Unrecoverable error to occur in QuickBooks. The most common are missing Windows or QuickBooks updates, data damage, computer issues or program codes that need repairing.

Make sure to always select Send every time you receive the error. Intuit gathered the information to create patch updates and help improve the program.

Before we begin troubleshooting, let’s update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. Then, create a backup copy of the company file, so you’ll always have an intact file to go back and work with when prompted with an error.

Once done, identify how many users are affected when opening the same company file. If it happens to one person only, it’s possible that the user’s credential is damaged.

Download and run the QuickBooks File Doctor to fix the damaged Admin user.  If it's a regular user, recreate it.

Here’s how:
1.    Go to the Company menu and select Users, then Set Up Users and Roles.
2.    Choose Add User, then type the login credential and click Next. (Make sure not to use the damaged user name).
3.    Customize the user as necessary and click Finish.
4.    Click the File menu and select Close Company/Logoff.
5.    Log in to the company file using the new login credential.
