I have several customers that use QB and we have recently added the software ThirdWall and it is blocking users from updating QB I can write an exception but I need to know what the file extension is on the update download and where it gets downloaded to.

Hi there, @bdodson.

When the third-party application blocks users from using QuickBooks, I'd suggest reaching the ThirdWall support.

Also, these are the file extensions that we use in Quickbooks. You can check this article: File types and extensions used by QuickBooks Desktop.

If you're unable to see the file extension is on the update and download that you're searching for, I'd suggest visiting our developer's site to find help with this: Intuit Developer Support Questions.

Let me know if you have other questions in QuickBooks Desktop. I'll keep my notifications open. Have a safe day ahead, bdodson!

Thanks for your reply I have reached out to the third party vendor and they gave me some help on how to get the update to run but it requires knowing where the files are downloaded to and what they are called.

Hello there, @bdodson.

I assume you have spoken to the Intuit Developer Community Forum. I have just the articles you need about the file extensions, location of the program, and what are the things you need to unblock so that you can still allow other users to update the QuickBooks Desktop program.

You may refer to these articles:

In case you need further assistance, I'd still recommend reaching out to the Intuit Developer Team. They are the specialists when it comes to the configuration of this program. Also, they have a separate community forum wherein other users will share their thoughts on how to handle this situation.

Let me know if you have other general questions about QuickBooks. I'd be happy to help. Take care.
