Updating bank credentials

The Master admin. is no longer doing the books; I am now.  (I am listed as an admin in QB). She was taken off the bank accounts and I think that is why I can't get the transactions to download from the bank.   But I cannot figure out how to change the credentials if that is the problem!
Below is from QB Help.  First problem is that I interpret it to mean that I should first log into the bank, then follow the steps.  So I logged into the bank, then followed the below steps. However, it doesn't work.  I can't ever get to #3, second bullet point.  "Edit sign in" never shows up.  Need help!  Thanks in advance!

How to update your bank account sign-in information

If you recently changed the bank account username or password on your financial institution's or bank's website for an account you connected to QuickBooks Online, you'll need to update the credentials in QuickBooks Online to reflect the change.

You can't change your financial institution login information in QuickBooks Online. You need to log in to your financial institution's website first to make the change.

Note  You can't change your financial institution login information in QuickBooks Online. You need to log in to your financial institution's website first to make the change.
  1. From the left menu, select Banking.

  2. On the Banking page, select Update.

Make sure you have selected the appropriate account.

QuickBooks Online tries to connect to your bank to manually update your account.
  3. Enter your updated username and password in one of the following ways:
    • If Error 103 appears, select the Reconnect my account link and enter your new username or password.
    • If no error message appears, select the Edit (pencil) icon next to the bank name, select Edit sign-in info, and enter your updated bank website username or user ID and password.
  4. Select Save and connect.

QuickBooks Online will try to connect with your bank to verify your information.

  5. Once you see a confirmation message, select I'm done, Let's go!

Now, your credentials are updated a

Updating bank credentials

The problem is, as I explained, that the edit button does not take me to an 'edit sign in' option.  It's a different edit option.

Updating bank credentials

Hello there, Nancy C.

Thanks for letting us know the process you did to change your bank account's sign-in info. The steps you've followed and those shared by my colleague @HoneyLynn_G can generally help update the bank's credentials.

Since they aren't working for you, I'd suggest using a different supported browser to alter the login information. It's possible there are outdated files that need refreshed from your browser.

Once you've signed in, try re-updating the credentials using the steps above. If the same issue persists, disconnect the bank, and re-connect it using a new connection.

To disconnect:

  1. Go to Banking in the left navigation panel, then Banking.
  2. Choose the Edit (pencil icon) on the account you want to change.
  3. In the Account window, check the Disconnect this account on save box.
  4. Click Save and Close.

For further details, click the article below:

Disconnect or delete an account from the Downloaded Transactions page

To reconnect the account:

  1. Go back to Banking in the left navigation panel, then Banking.
  2. On the Banking page, select Add Account.
  3. Search for your financial institution and select it from the list.
  4. Enter the new User or Login ID and password for the financial institution's website and click Continue.
  5. Complete the security verification steps your financial institution requires and choose Securely connect.
  6. Pick the bank emblem for the account you want to connect.
  7. Select the Account type drop-down menu to choose either a Bank or Credit Card account.
  8. Click Connect

Here's another article for more details about this process:

Connect bank and credit card accounts through Banking

That's it! These steps should help you connect the bank account using the new credentials.

Feel free to let me know on how the processes go. I'm here to help, anytime.
