Let's get this working, @accounts357

Based on your scenario, it seems like you've manually updated the bank in QuickBooks Online (QBO). It's the recommended step to help fix your concern initially.

Since the manual update didn't work, it could be your financial institution is performing system maintenance. Also, there are messages, notifications, or alerts from their website that may need your attention. These are the possible factors why the new items haven't come through in the system.

I'd suggest signing in to your bank's website to check any alerts from there. Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu.
  2. Click Add Account. You won’t add an account, you just need the listed URL.
  3. Search for your bank and select it.
  4. Copy the URL listed in the window when opening a browser to log into your bank's website.
  5. Check your account page for messages, notifications, or alerts. Any display or sign in issues on their website can potentially block the program from downloading new transactions.
  6. Verify for any announcements about new security requirements.
  7. If everything looks good, go back to the Banking menu.
  8. Choose the blue tile for the bank account.
  9. Click Update.

You can also update your bank info in QBO if you changed anything on their website, like your account number. For the detailed instructions, see Step 2 through this article: What To Do If Bank Transactions Won't Download or There's A Bank Error

Once resolved, I recommend categorizing your transactions in the For Review tab to ensure they're correct. You can also match them to the existing entries to avoid duplicates.

Lastly, can I ask for the bank's name you're trying to get updated transactions in the program? Just click the Reply button below to add some details to make sure I've got you covered.

I'll make sure your accounts are updated, @ChickenTendy.

Before we start, can you share with me the name of your bank or financial institution? This way, I can check if there are any reported issues with it. Any additional detail is much appreciated to make sure I can give you the right resolution.

The guidance above is for QuickBooks Online (QBO). If you're using QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you'll have to click the Refresh icon in the Account Information window a couple of times to update the connection between your bank and QuickBooks. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select Bank Feeds.
  3. Click the Bank Feeds Center.
  4. Choose your account and click the Refresh icon a couple of times.

If the bank connection issue persists, I'd recommend checking your bank's website for notifications or verification requests. When they have changed how they support QBDT, they'll notify you. Sign in to their website and check your messages. Then, follow the instructions to complete the process.

Once the connection issue is resolved, your transactions will automatically download. Make sure to categorize them to keep your financial data accurate. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps: Add and match Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

Also, I would encourage you to reconcile your accounts every month. This will help you monitor your income and expenses and detect any possible errors accordingly. For the step-by-step guide, you can check out this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Let me know in the comments if you have other banking concerns and questions about managing transactions in QuickBooks. I'll gladly help. Take care always, @ChickenTendy.
