Get 50% OFF QuickBooks for 3 months*
Buy nowWe cancelled our QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus as of March 8th, 2026. Today, April 28th, 2026, I am now getting the message "Your 1 year view-only access period is over. Your QuickBooks subscription is no longer active. To get access, renew your subscription." when I try to open QuickBooks. It has been less than two months since our subscription cancelled, not 1 year. I would upload an attachment of the message here, but even though I am signed in, I get the message "You must be signed in to add attachments" at the bottom of the post page, so I guess that's also not working for some reason. I need to figure out how to get the view-only access to QuickBooks desktop back.
There seems to be an error in their system regarding how they calculate your view-only access time period. Unfortunately, this kind of problem requires their goodwill to resolve and I doubt Support team will be willing to help you. I would recommend to use the trial version of QB Desktop Enterprise instead to access your historical data for good.
YUP, me too. Tired of this. Used AI to find there is a way out of QBooks
I'm having the same issue. Curious to know if you found a solution.
Using the trial version for good is the solution at the moment.
That's very frustrating. Can you use the trial version indefinitely?
I've noticed this issue popping up a few weeks ago. Using the trial version is the only solution at the moment. Furthermore, you can use it permanently to access your historical data with a few easy steps.
OK great! What are the steps to access the data permenantly?
Download the installer file from this source
then you should contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA directly via email. They can guide you in more detail on how to access your historical data for good.
I cancelled my subscription on May 6, and a week later started getting the same notice about the "view only" mode. After 3 hours on the phone, the ASSURED me they were working on the issue. Now, when I sent an email to check the status, it tells my that the case number they gave me is invalid. Go figure!
I also find it interesting that no Intuit personnel have chimed in with support on this thread!
@tjcarothers I know it's a letdown to find out your case number isn't valid after working to get this notice sorted out. That isn't the experience we want you to have.
I've sent your details directly to our Next Level Help team. They'll thoroughly review your account history and Community comments so you don't have to repeat yourself or start from scratch. An expert will review everything and reach out to you within the next business day to get this resolved.
I'm caught in the same situation. Our company was acquired by another larger one and they do not use QuickBooks. I was told not to renew it and after about 3 weeks, I could no longer view my data. I have tried everything AI suggested to no avail. I need to be able to run reports from last year and now I'm locked out. Intuit you promised me 1 year view only access! Please fix this asap!!!
