What user roll to use for 3rd party credit card applications please????

I'm using Transax and recently upgraded QB to desktop Enterprise 21.0.  I had to redo the user roles and can't figure out what roll my sales need to be able to enter credit cards into the Transax portal. Help Please!

Hello there, nancyl.

In QuickBooks Desktop, a third-party credit card application requires to have administrative access. Transax may need this access right to the ones who enter credit cards into the Transax portal.

Let's access setting up the users and roles by going to the Company menu. To guide you further, please follow the steps below:

  1. From the Company menu. Then, elect Set Up Users and Passwords.
  2. Then, Set Up Users.
  3. Select Add User.
  4. Select Admin and click Edit User.
  5. Enter the name of the person who will be the administrator.

  6. Fill out the User NamePassword, and Confirm Password fields.
  7. When done, select Finish.

Is this something that just changed? My sales people never had Admin rights.  We've been using Transax since 2017. I upgraded our PC's and QB and also Transax last month. The new Transax software hasn't worked right since we started but my sales people where able new credit cards up until 1 week ago. Now when they access the add/update screen and look for a company and enter it, the name disappears. I wanted to double check roles for access.  I didn't think I changed anything but just in case I did. Transax engineers have been working on the fixes without a solution.

Let me make it up to you, Nancyl. I'll add a few information.

You don't need an admin right to enter credit card charges. Just as long as the user is set up correctly, then they could enter the information.

It could be Transax made an update and needed an admin right to enter the information.
