We have problems with the reports not staying within the parameters of the requested reports for Sales By Item Detail (set to "cash). Also with accurate numbers in the above mentioned reports. Has this been fixed yet? we NEED this function.
Thanks for joining this conversation, Wgeary.
Let's make sure QuickBooks Online (QBO) is showing the correct data on the Sales by Item Detail report.
We haven't received similar reports about this. It's possible that this is a webpage cache issue. To verify, we can try using your browser's incognito feature. This feature doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to test if there's an issue with the browser.
If QBO shows the correct figures on the report, I suggest you go back to your main browser and then clear the cache. This step resolves most browser-related issues. Alternatively, you can use a different supported browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome or Firefox).
That information should get you on the right track. Please let me know how that works for you. I'm to here provide you additional assistance if you need anything else. Have a good one.
I appreciate you sharing this in the thread, @stevencorcoran.
Generally, if you're using Desktop Mac, you can access your reports in the Report Center. In QuickBooks Mac 2020, reports now use a new structure that brings all the customization options into a one-window format. You can refer to this link for more details: Report Sidebar in QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2020.
If you can't access this in your end, your release note may not be updated. To fix this issue, you'll have to download a Release 2 (R2) product update. You can check this link for more information: Release notes for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2020.
I'd also like to include this guide to assists you with the new features of Mac 2020: QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2020 User's Guide.
I'll be around if you need further assistance. I want to help however I can. Have a good one.
Welcome aboard to the Community, @itsloris.
To get you back up and running opening reports, let’s perform the basic troubleshooting. You can start by opening the company in a private browser.
All websites and information you access will be discarded without a trace once the browser is closed:
If the report options load seamlessly, shift back to your regular browser, and remove the cache. Removing it speeds up the web browsing experience.
You can also give a try using another browser when performing the process. This is to isolate this unexpected behavior.
I suggest running the Health Checkup tool. This will help to ensure that the browser and system are optimally configured for QBO.

Hi there, KM56.
We can work together to find out why your reports have incomplete details, so you can go back to focusing on your business.
Mostly, unusual displays on reports are resolved by clearing the cache in your browser. A cache, on the other hand, is a memory that temporarily stores your browsing history to reload a web page faster when you revisit it. When it's full, you could experience unusual behaviors in QuickBooks such as missing displays, unresponsive buttons, and random errors.
Please follow AlcaeusF's steps above to refresh your browser, then try running some reports after. If the same thing happens, please contact our Support to investigate this behavior. They might request to view your screen and take screenshots for documentation purposes.
We’re just right here if you need more help with your reports.
I have QB Mac version2019 fully updated. The reports are not working. They are incomplete in content and the date choices don't work. I see others have had same problem since last year. What is the issue? This is a big problem
Let's try running some troubleshooting steps to determine why the reports are not working on your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
We can begin by verifying and rebuilding your data. Verify Data identifies the most commonly known data issues within a company file while Rebuild Data resolves most data integrity issues that the Verify Data finds.
Here's how to verify:
Then, here's how to rebuild:
Afterward, let's close and then reopen the file to ensure that it was successfully rebuilt.
I've also added this article in case you want to add or remove some filters on the report: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
Let me know how these troubleshooting steps work on your end. Stay safe!
Tried all that, nothing works. I can run reports on the two other companies I am working on QBO accountant. Reports run, they are not downloading. I have rebooted, cleared the cache, tried Edge, Chrome, and Chrome private, nothing is working.
This is critical.
Good work for doing the basic steps to fix the issue, AJFCPA.
I suggest reaching out to our customer care support so an agent can take a better look at this. Here's how:

Anyone come up with an answer that is straight forward on this? I don't see one. Have a client using Quickbooks ONLINE but using a MAC and not a PC.
If you click REPORTS, nothing happens. Cannot go to the reports center or bring up any type of report unless going to the chart of accounts and clicking on Quick Report.
On my PC, in the same client, I can bring up reports for this client.
Appreciate a quick response from a Intuit support team member.
Hey there, tcalabrese4458.
Thanks for joining this thread. I want to make sure your client is able to access the reports center in their QuickBooks Online account.
As an initial troubleshooting step, I recommend your client clear their browser cache. The cache is in place to collect frequently used data to make loading web pages quicker and easier. If the cache becomes too full, it can have the adverse effect and potentially cause viewing and performance errors within the system. Clearing it will force the system to refresh and remove anything preventing the reports from loading correctly. Here's how to get this done in Chrome for example:
1. Click the three vertical dots in the top right corner.
2. Select More Tools, then Clear Browsing Data.
3. Change the time range to All Time.
4. Only check Cached images and files.
5. Click Clear data.
This article provides similar steps for other browsers: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online
That will do it! Your client will be able to view their reports in no time. I'm only a comment or post away if you have any other questions.
