Recent Update Reset preferences AND Causes Bill to close automatically after payment has been applied (desktop version).

I reviewed the most recent update for QB (Desktop version) and did not see any mention of changes that are cause issues.

1.) The Update reset alll of the current preferences.

2. The Update Reset Causes Bill to close automatically after payment has been applied (desktop version). A blank screen is now what is seen. I then have to reopen the bill each time. If changes were applied in the last release was there an option to keep it the way it was? I need the bill open after it was paid. With this option that has been there for years being gone it takes 2 -3 time longer to process everything.

If there is not an option to return this feature (not in your release notes); please hurry and fix this.

3. Liabilities: I also ask a couple of months ago for an option to pay liabilities through Quickbooks for the NYS 1 $700 cap. Currently we have to process this outside of Quickbooks and then process it manually inside quickbooks. Are you working on making this feature available?

Thank you!

Dawn

Re: Recent Update Reset preferences AND Causes Bill to close automatically after payment has been...

Hello there, gsdheaven.

Thanks for letting us know about this. Let's get this sorted out.

QuickBooks' recent update doesn't include resetting current preferences. For now, let's check your Preferences and make sure to set bills to Automatically use credits. I'll walk you through the steps below:

  1. Go to Edit.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Select Bills.
  4. From the Company Preferences, check the box for Automatically use credits.

On the other note, processing the NYS-1 payment is available in QuickBooks Desktop. Since you accrue $700 in withholding liability, you're required to pay within 3 or 5 business days.

Here's an article to learn more about handling the New York Withholding Payments in QuickBooks.

To be updated to the latest New York tax regulations, you can keep this article handy: New York Payroll Tax Compliance.

I'd appreciate if you continue to update me on how it goes. I'm still here whenever you need help.
