Recording owner's mileage

I need to bill a customer for mileage I had on my vehicle as part of our agreed upon payment schedule. I have entered the mileage into QB and assigned the customer to it as well... however, I can't seem to move the information from the mileage log to an invoice. How do I do that?

Recording owner's mileage

Hi there, cheryldairy.

When recording mileage in QuickBooks, make sure the Billable box is checked. This will allow you to bill the customer for the miles that you've entered in QuickBooks.

Then, follow these steps to add mileage in the invoice:

  1. Create an invoice for the customer.
  2. Click Add Time/Costs.
  3. Go to the Mileage tab and select the mileage log that you need to be added in the invoice.
  4. Click OK, then enter the Rate and Amount.
  5. Click Save and close.
