register input - auto fill

Hello -

This is for Quickbooks for Mac 2020.

In the register, when I click in the "Number/Type" field, "21.60" autofills in that field. I do not want to turn autofill off, I like that, but I dont want "21.60" to autofill. Is there a way to edit the autofill values?

Thanks,

Re: register input - auto fill

Hi there, tshelby.

Thank you for visiting here in QuickBooks Community.

Once you've turned on the Auto-fill option, all the values entered in the register will automatically fill in the field-based from the previously used information.

For now, it doesn't have the option to specify or edit the autofill values once it's already turned on.

Re: register input - auto fill

i tried to turn it off, then back on in hopes it would 'reset', but that didn't work. so there is no workaround at all?

Re: register input - auto fill

Thanks for getting back to us, tshelby.

I appreciate you performing some troubleshooting steps.

At this time, the option to edit the auto fill values of a specific transaction in QuickBooks Desktop is unavailable. This feature sets system to remember the previous transaction for a person.

As workaround, you can always override any pre-filled information in a transaction.

Your input gives our product engineers ideas on changes. In fact, most of the tweaks in QuickBooks are coming from users' suggestions.

In this case, I'll prepare a feedback statement directly to them for review.

For the meantime, I suggest checking back for any enhancements and announcements through this link: The QuickBooks Blog.

We hear you. I'll be sure to notify you here if this option becomes available.

Let me know if you have any follow-ups or other concerns. I'll be here to help. Wishing you the best.
