I use Quickbooks Desktop 2019 multi-user on a Windows 2016 Server. In our office everybody can connect in multi-user mode without problem.
However, when traveling (which I have to do a lot) I connect to the server through a VPN. In that case I can only use QB in single user mode. When I try to switch to multi-user I get a H202 error code. The QuickBooks Connection Diagnostic Tool states 'The Windows Firewall: Exceptions not defined for QuickBooks. When I click open ports I get a series of error messages. The Windows Firewall has been defined correctly and even when I switch the firewall off I still get the H202 message.
These is a screenshot of the QBCDT screen and error messages
You certainly did well on detailing everything about your concern, Bogdiver.
One of the main reason why you’re getting this error is because VPN is not supported by Intuit. You might consider hosting your company data file. This refers to the installation of QuickBooks on the network server hosted over the internet.
With that being said, you’ll be able to access the file via a web browser from any location.

As far as I know, I am hosting the file on the server and I can remotely access the server without problem. We can also open the data file in multi-user mode while in the office over our WiFi network.
I can also open the data file in single user mode while away from the office. It is only the multi-user mode that gives the H202 problem.
Also, regardless of whether I try to access remotely, the QBCDT should be able to open the ports and I should not get "Exceptions not defined for Quickbooks" as this has nothing to do with the remote access.
hi @Bogdiver ,
We have many clients in Indonesia and Asia similar to your case. They prefer hosting QuickBooks files on their own premise. We named the service as Quickbooks Private Cloud. A UK-based company provides such service. Any mobile users may connect their QuickBooks files (and other application) by internet connection. The solution is a good option handling any user working the same file of QuickBooks concurrently by LAN and internet. PM me for details.
Let me have the pleasure to assist you in sending a private message to our Established Community Backer (Fiat Lux - ASIA), @Bogdiver.

hi @Bogdiver ,
First, you have to activate it in your profile settings.
Click your id on the top right corner > My profile
Go to Preferences > Private Messanger > Turn on private messages
Otherwise, visit our site and send your email to our inbox directly.
I already tried to click on the name before posting but do not get the "send a message button" nest to the Established Community Backer. For the rest the page looks the same as you showed.
When I paste and copy the private message page I only get "Private messages" on top of the page but no box or anything else.
I normally use Firefox but also tried it in Chrome and MS Edge with the same result
You can follow the steps provided by Fiat Lux - ASIA to turn on the private message option.
I'm adding these screenshots for your reference:
