Join nowI am using QB Prem 2020 with R10 update.
I used an existing old backup to create a test company. I removed all transactions, removed TIN, EIN and SSN from the company file, removed the bank account and routing number, deleted all credit cards.
I thought I removed all the sensitive data from the company files. Is there a function that shows me if I still have sensitive data in the company file?
How can I now remove the password requirement from the file?
I want to use this company file strictly for import testing using 3rd party transaction importer.
I know a way to check your sensitive data, gerdgoebel.
You can visit the Company Information page in QuickBooks Desktop to see if all the sensitive information in your company file has been removed. I'll guide you how:
As for the password security in your desktop file, we're unable to remove it. This is designed to add an extra security layer within your QuickBooks files.
I suggest checking this article for more information: Intuit Privacy Statement.

Your suggestions is not helpful at all. It would be more helpful if you could be more specific about where to check for sensitive data.
I went through my company and removed all sensitive information. There is no option to check if elsewhere sensitive information still exists. From my point of view it does not, as I removed bank details and deleted all credit cards.
Also, I read that we only need a password if there IS sensitive data, thus, there must be an option to get rid of the password.
I found some references in the community to change the password but not enter a new one then look for the challenge. Well, if I try to change it I get an error that the new password is not secure enough, and there is no challenge anywhere on the change password screen.
Also, I read your privacy statement but again, there is no need for a password if there is no sensitive data in the company file. And like I said, this is a test company I want to use to test mass imports.
It has also been suggested in the community to look for a third party tool to remove the password. Well, I don't want to do that. I would like that Intuit helps me getting rid of the password if it is not needed (and according to Intuit it is not in my case).
