We can go to the Banking page to categorize the transactions on what account it will be posted in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Here's how:
- Go to the Banking menu.
- Select the tile for the account you want to review.
- Tap the For Review tab to start your review.
- Choose the transaction.
- Tick the Categorize radio button.
- Select the account in the Category field.
- Once done, press Add.
If you already added the transactions, we can access the bank register to edit and categorize them. Let me show you how:
- Click Accounting on the left side menu.
- Choose Chart of Accounts.
- Find and select the register you want to review.
- In the Actions column, select View register.
- Find and select the transaction in the account register to expand the view.
- Make changes in the available fields.
- If you want to change something in the grayed-out sections, select Edit. This opens the full transaction form where you can make additional changes.
- Press Save and close.
Some transactions can't be edited directly in the register. You need to select the transaction and open the full form to make edits. You can check out the Find, review, and edit transactions in the account register for more details about this one.
