Sales Order Fulfillment in Chronological Order

We are currently using QB Enterprise Manufacturing and Wholesale 19.0 with Advanced Inventory.  We are looking into implementing the Sales Order Fulfillment Worksheet.  The goal is to create a quick and The idea would be to send batch orders to the warehouse for picking based on what is fulfillable.  The current issue with the document is that it will allow the fulfillment of sales orders based on On Hand inventory instead of the true quantity available. We would like the orders fulfilled in chronological order.

Ex. An order for 12 units has been placed and we only have 3 OH.  We would then submit a purchase order for 9 units to be able to fulfill this order.  If we receive an order for 2 of the same part before the purchase order has arrived, the sales order fulfillment worksheet would allow us to fulfill when we really do not have the inventory because it is allocated for another customer.  We would then have to submit another order to fulfill the first order that came through thus delaying that order.  This would continue to happen as that part is sold.

Does anyone know how to create a first in first out sales order fulfillment process?

Sales Order Fulfillment in Chronological Order

Welcome to the Intuit Community, BeamDist.

I'd like to have this taken care of.

Being able to filter the Sales Order Fulfillment n a chronological order is not yet available in QuickBooks. We would appreciate if you can send this idea straight to our product engineers. Sending your feedback online would be a great help for us to determine the features that need to be added to our product. I'll make sure to do the same on my end.

Here's how to send your feedback:

  1. Click Help at the top menu.
  2. Click Send Feedback Online.
  3. Choose Product Suggestion.
  4. Enter your feature request.
  5. Click Send Feedback.

You might want to check out this article for future reference: Fulfill a Sales Order using Advanced Inventory.

Sales Order Fulfillment in Chronological Order

Hello!

ERPAG as a cloud-based ERP and MRP application fulfills the orders based on chronological order. The quantity received or produced always goes to the oldest sales order entered. However, there is always a possibility for you to 'steal' quantity and pack it for another SO. You can read more about our fulfillment feature on this link: https://blog.erpag.com/2018/10/fulfillment-backorders.html

We also integrate with QB Online: https://blog.erpag.com/2018/09/quickbooks-online-erpag-manufacturing.html

Sales Order Fulfillment in Chronological Order

We usually set the Sales Order Fulfillment Sheet to select full orders with the earliest order date. It seems to me that that approach would ensure that items will be allocated to orders in the chronological sequence you are referring to. Michael Trotz

Sales Order Fulfillment in Chronological Order

Actually, the point I was making on the other thread was that the sales order fulfillment sheet (and pick lists) should (in my opinion anyway) take account of the location of available inventory when the multiple inventory sites option is activated. I wasn't expressing a concern on this thread, just suggesting how the sheet could be set up to achieve what is he looking for. Thanks, Michael Trotz
