Sales tax by drop ship to address

Need track to track sales to distributors that we drop ship to various customers around CA.  I can code the distributor with a tax rate. How do you code the drop ship tax rate with multiple drop ship locations?  I am using QB accountant 2016

Sales tax by drop ship to address

Hi there, @apopky.

Thank you for joining the Community. I'd be happy to help share some information about tracking sales tax in QuickBooks Desktop.

Are you referring to multiple sales tax items on an invoice? If so, I recommend that you use a subtotal item and multiple tax items in your sales forms.

Here's how:

  1. Set up sales tax items.
  2. Create a subtotal item.
  3. Create the invoice using multiple sales tax items.

The following article contains additional information about this, as well as the detailed steps on how to show multiple sales tax items on an invoice: Display multiple tax rates.

However, if you're referring to multiple locations for tracking inventory, please check the Multiple Inventory Sites article for more information.

Also, if you need additional help, the phone support agents will be able to assist you in getting this resolved.

Here's how you can reach them:

  1. Go to
  2. Select QuickBooks for Windows.
  3. Select your QuickBooks for Windows version.
  4. Select a topic.
  5. Click on the Get Phone Number button.

That should do it.

We appreciate you taking the time to visit us here today. Feel free to reach out again if you have any other questions or if you're referring to something else. I'll be happy to help you out.
