"Save and close" and "save and new" buttons disappeared on "write checks"

The buttons on the bottom of the screen to "save and close" or "save and new" have suddenly disappeared from my "write checks" function. They are still there on the "make a deposit" function etc.

Re: "Save and close" and "save and new" buttons disappeared on "write checks"

Your QuickBooks application is designed to work on a Windows DPI setting, marvelglassllc.

Once this setting is modified, it will affect your app's screen resolution. That includes the missing Save & Close and Save & New buttons.

Here's how to change your screen settings:

  1. Right-click your QuickBooks icon and then select Properties.
  2. In the Compatibility tab, select Disable display scaling in high  DPI settings.
  3. Click Apply, then OK.
  4. Open your QuickBooks application to check if the windows are visible.

Once done, try opening the Write Check page again. If the issue persists, you can perform Solutions 2 and 3 in the article below.

Forget all that other advice. My son found a simple solution for you...

While still in your QuickBooks file - do the following...

1. Close all open windows inside your QuickBooks file.

2.Hold down the 'Shift' button while opening the module you were having trouble with.

Wahla! You now have the save and close buttons again!

Super simple!
