Hi there, @nancyk57.
I'm here to answer your questions about passwords.
So there are some differences with passwords from an admin user to a regular user. We'll cover both for you.
Admin user:
1. How many passwords does QuickBooks remember before you can reuse a password? You can not reuse any of your last four passwords. Trying to use a previous password will give you an error. I've included a screenshot below of what the error will look like.
2. How many invalid login attempts before a user is locked out? You have three chances to type the correct password. If you can not remember the Admin password, you can reset your password. However, you can click OK on the error message and try your password again.
3. How much time will the user be locked out after the threshold is reached? There is no time limit.
For a regular user:
1. How many passwords does QuickBooks remember before you can reuse a password? For a regular user, there is no amount of passwords that can be reused.
2. How many invalid login attempts before a user is locked out? The user will have three attempts before resulting in error to reset their password. However, they can click OK on the error message and try their password again. Below I've included a screenshot of the error.
How much time will the user be locked out after the threshold is reached? There is no time limit.

Does QB record activity regarding transactional, administration and user functions?
Thanks so much!
I am answering many questions on an IT audit and greatly appreciate your help.
Does QB record activity regarding transactional, administration, and user functions?
Hi nancyk57,
At this time, QuickBooks only records activities pertaining to accounting, such as additions, deletions, and modifications that affect the transactions using the Audit Trail report. To check the report, you can follow the steps below.
I have also included this link in case you have any other questions about QuickBooks: Reports And Accounting.
