Service Company Labor and Expense

I have a small service company and have employees who perform service in the field. I charge the customer based on the hours the employee spends at the customer site.  For this I have each tech setup as a Service Type item - which allows me to invoice the customer.  However there isn't a place to include Cost rate for expense side. Prefer not to use jobs.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for providing detailed information about what you want to achieve. It would be my pleasure to provide additional clarification about entering expenses into the invoice.

 

If you prefer not to use job costs, you can just link the customer or job into the employee's paycheck. This way, you'll be able to track the details through the rate and hours work by the employee.
