Shipping FedEx Through QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

Hi Community,

We're starting to use our TC21 scanner to pick and pack daily orders.  We are setup on FedEx Ship Manager, but if we're already entering the customer information into the Sales Order, we'd prefer just to ship out of QuickBooks.  How difficult is it to ship in QuickBooks after the picking and packing of orders?  Does QuickBooks hold the tracking information?  We send that information to our customers along with the cost of the shipment.  Also, what about presetting dims and weights for each sku in our inventory?  Is that possible?

Shipping FedEx Through QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

Hello there, @Dytrt.

I can see that you have been using the advance inventory feature in QuickBooks Desktop. Allow me to share some details about these tools to aid your shipping transactions.

QuickBooks integrates with Fed Ex, UPS and, USPS couriers that makes it easy to do the shipment process.

The tracking information such as the status of the shipment will be coordinated with the courier. The rest of the details such as the weight, the inventory item, and cost can be found in the QuickBooks Shipping Manager.

When creating a shipment, you'll be the one to get the weight of each item and input it, then the courier will give you the cost of the shipment. Also, it synchronizes with the sales order or invoice that you will send to the customer. However, the weight of each item will not be synced in your inventory since it is a separate tool.

To know more about setting up the Shipping Manager tool, you can check out these reference pages:
