Should I be recording shirt printing as COGS?

I currently sell apparel online, printed as needed. I.e. at the end of the week if there 25 shirts ordered I have them printed by a vendor, I buy them and ship them out. I do not keep any apparel inventory.

Would I still record the purchases of the shirts as a COGS account or can it be a regular expense account like "printing" which I have been doing.

Since I don't carry any inventory I wouldn't think it'd matter but asking here for insight, thanks!

a regular expense is fine, until the time comes that you stock t-shirts then it would be COGS
