Signature Capture with a signature pad

Great question you have there, @ CCMetals.

As of now, the option to use a signature pad to capture a signature in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) software isn’t possible yet. But, I got a workaround you can consider. You can create an electronic signature and use it for your checks and paychecks. Let me show how to do it.

Here’s how:

  1. Write your signature on a piece of paper.
  2. Scan and save the image in the correct file format: BMP, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF.
  3. Go to your QuickBooks File menu, select Printer Setup.
  4. Select Check/Paycheck form Name drop-down list.
  5. Put a checkmark on Click Print Signature Image.
  6. In the Signature dialog box, choose File.
  7. Select the graphic file that contains the signature and click Open.
  8. Click OK in the Signature dialog box then click OK in the Printer Setup dialog box.

You can also check these articles for more details about creating an electronic signature and how it works:

I'd also encourage checking our Product Updates page regularly to stay updated on any latest news and updates in QuickBooks.

Let me also add this article that you can use for reference for when you’ll need to personalize your invoices: Use and customize form templates.

Know that I’m always around whenever you need help with your QBDT software. Keep safe!
