Since October of 2017 I have had a task show up on my screen to com plete set up-take action. It will not go away. QB is obviously not doing anything to help me.

Thank you for posting here in the Community. I'd be glad to help share some information about Task reminders on the QuickBooks dashboard.

Task reminders will always show in QuickBooks Online (QBO) if you have transactions or activities that need your attention such as payroll tax forms, payroll tax payments, recurring template reminders, and others.

To remove your outstanding payroll taxes and forms, you'll need to pay and file them:

1. Click on Dashboard at the left pane.
2. Go to the Tasks section.
3. Click the Show more hyperlink and click File now or Pay now.
4. Continue processing your forms and payments.

To remove the reminder under the Tasks section, you'll need to respond to your recurring template reminders. You can either Create a transaction or Skip the reminder.

If you want to create a transaction from your reminder template:

1. Click on Dashboard at the left pane.
2. Go to the Tasks section.
3. Click the View reminders hyperlink.
4. In the Reminders List window, choose a template and click Edit and Create.
5. Enter the needed information and click Save and close.

If you want to skip your reminder template:

1. In the same Reminders List window, choose a template.
2. Click the drop-down arrow next to Edit and Create.
3. Select Skip.

However, if you wish to remove the Task reminders on the dashboard for the for the taxes you'll need to pay and forms to file, I recommend sending feedback/product request straight to our product developers to be considered in the future updates. To send your product request, go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
