Hello @john333,

We can check all the system requirements if it matches the one you're using. Most performance issues have improved after changing some settings of the workstations. Here's an article you can read to learn more: Resolve QuickBooks Desktop performance issues: Manage your computers.

We can also manage the pop-up message's settings of your company file to optimize its performance. Simply go to the Settings menu and select Preferences. You can consider reading this article to learn more: Resolve QuickBooks Desktop performance issues: Manage your data file.

Lastly, I've got you this helpful article in case you'll bump into errors while doing business with QuickBooks: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

Keep me updated in the comments if you have any other questions. I'll be here to lend a hand.

All my versions are loading slow.  2020, tried to print vendor checks - took me an hour to print 5 checks.

Hello there, @mlh1700.

There are some possible reasons why you’re having this issue while printing checks in QuickBooks Desktop.

  • QuickBooks needs to update to its latest release.
  • QB freezes when printing due to unresponsive XPS port.
  • QuickBooks unable to complete the printing action due to missing components.

You'll want to update QuickBooks to its latest release. This will help you address some minor issues.

Here’s how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Desktop, go to the Help menu, and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to the Update Now tab.
  3. Select Get Updates to start the download.
  4. When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.
  5. When prompted, accept the option to install the new release.

Once done, you may now try to print checks again. You can also use this article to fix other issues on printing in QuickBooks Desktop: Resolve printing issues.

I’m adding an article as a future reference if you wanted to print multiple checks or by batch: Print checks.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Have a nice day!
