Join nowWhen you create a custom invoice style (in Custom Form Styles), and click on the Emails tab to format how the email looks, there's an option to "Use Greeting". If you set the first field (To/Dear) to be <Blank>, and the next field to be [First], then when you preview an invoice before sending it, there's a blank space before the customer's First Name.
It seems to me as if the system is assuming you'll use "To" or "Dear" and then adds a space before what comes next (e.g. the customer's first name). But if you don't use "To" or "Dear" and instead select <Blank>, the space is still added. before First Name.
It's a small bug, but annoying because I need to remember to delete that space before sending every invoice.
I’m here to help fix this unexpected behavior in QuickBooks, @Yo_Be_Low.
There are instances stored data information you've recently used can sometimes become corrupted, which leads the program to misbehave.
Try to open your QuickBooks Online account using an incognito or private window. You can create a sample invoice with the same template then check if the email format is correct. You can use these keyboard shortcuts below:
If the customer's name is now placed properly without space before it, go back to your main browser and clear its cache to start fresh. You can also use other supported browsers as an alternative. In addition, it would be best to utilize the Health Checkup Tool. It is used to check multiple aspects of the browser to make sure the application runs seamlessly.

The Custom Form Styles module in QBO lets you edit the layout, design, and data fields that appear on your invoices. For more information, check out this reference to customize sales forms.
I'll appreciate it if you’ll give me updates on your template situation. I’m always here to help you out. Have a good one!
It's not my browser cache. QBO is adding a space because it anticipates I'll use the greetings "To" or "Dear". But when I have that field set to <Blank>, it still adds the space. Look more carefully at the example you provided below. On the left, in the section titled "Body", there's a blank space before "Lana".
Hello, Yo_Be_Low.

Charles, I'm just trying to report a little bug. I don't need to talk to support - what are they going to do other than acknowledge the bug?
Hi @Yo_Be_Low,
If you intend to report any bugs in the system, then it's best to speak with our Technical Support team.
Other than acknowledge it, they'll also investigate the issue. When a significant number of our users have reported the same issue, they'll open an investigation into it. At that point, our product developers will work on a fix, then deploy it as soon as they can.
You can refer to this article for the steps: QuickBooks Online Support. It includes our Technical Support team's hours of operation, so you know when they're available.
Post a reply if you have other questions about QuickBooks Online, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
