Starting a new year?

How do I start a new year in QB? Do I need to delete all of 2018 before staring 2019?

Thanks!

Starting a new year?

Thanks for taking the time to post here in the Community, @LisaD75

I'll share some insights on how you can manage your company files.

There's no need to delete the 2018 files when starting 2019 since QB's data will seamlessly carry over from last year to this year.

If you want to have a fresh start for 2019, you can create a new company file. Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks. You'll see the No Company Open window.
  2. Click Get Started
  3. On the Create New Company section, enter company information.
  4. Click Next
  5. Select your business type and your chart of accounts.
