Starting Books for Year QB Online

Hello, katiear.

I'd love to assist you on getting your books started. First things first, could you elaborate a little bit on what you mean? If you have our QuickBooks Online Accountant product I'm assuming you mean the Your Books section that provides access to the features you need to manage your finance's.

If you're trying to import data from QuickBooks Desktop into Your Books, check out this helpful link that shows you exactly how to do just that.

Let me know if that's what you were referring to or if you have any other questions, I'm happy to help!

Nick, I was able to obtain the details on starting the new year for the books.
We just started using QB Online while previous balances were in another database.
At this point, or as follow-up how can I bring in the balances from seperate database?
Or is that not possible?

Thanks for touching base with us again, @katiear.

The ability to bring in balances from other software depends on their support for an integration with QuickBooks Online. I recommend checking out our Apps Marketplace to see if they offer an integration of some sort with QuickBooks Online.

Alternatively, if you'd just like to bring in the balances, you may want to consult with an accountant to create an opening balance transaction in the registers or using Journal Entries to achieve this.

Let me know if you have any other questions by hitting that Reply button below. I'll be here eager to help. Have a good one!
