Sync Quickbooks POS with Quickbooks Desktop

I have Quickbooks POS and Quickbooks Desktop installed on two different computers. I have single user licenses for each application. The POS is in the store sale room and the QB Desktop is in the back office. I have been manually entering the daily sales into QB desktop weekly but would like to do that more efficiently. How do I synchronize them to be able to input daily sales, see open purchase orders, view employee hours etc?

Sync Quickbooks POS with Quickbooks Desktop

Hello there, @sldemill.

Let me help share some information about syncing Point Of Sale with QuickBooks Desktop.

You can use the Financial Exchange process, which allows sharing of information between POS and QuickBooks Desktop. This significantly reduces workload as it keeps you from entering the information twice.

To do this, you'll need to set your QuickBooks preferences by following these steps:

  1. Click on Edit at the top.
  2. Select on Preferences.
  3. On the left pane, choose Integrated Applications then go to the Company Preferences tab.
  4. From the Applications list, select QuickBooks Point of Sale.
  5. Select on Properties.
  6. In the Access Rights tab, select the option Allow this application to read and modify this company file.
  7. Select OK in the Properties window, and in the Preferences window.
