For months my Taxes tab opens to the sales tax center and shows a spinning circle on it. This was not a problem since all seemed to be working but now it's been 3 weeks that I cannot add/edit tax rates and agencies. I get a "Sorry, an error occurred.

I first contacted them on chat on 6/8 and have called on 6/11 and 6/24. I gave them my case# and was told they are working on it... 3 weeks and still error. This is opening in the old sales tax center and

I would like to convert to the new automated tax but cannot since the update window does not open. I have had to duplicate tax agencies to update the new rates since I cannot view or edit my list.

They acknowledge the problem but have not fixed it.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

  4. Go to +New, then Check.
  5. In the Payee field, select the vendor receiving the sales tax payments.
  6. In the Account field, choose the Sales Tax liability account you created.

This is not a solution for the technical problems with quickbooks Taxes center.

I have just  updated Quickbooks and the Taxes center is still not working properly.

I get a spinning grey circle on the sales Tax center page and cannot add/edit tax rates and agencies.

There is also no way to upgrade to the automated tax center. I am hesitant to continue using Quickbooks as this problem has been present for weeks. Please address this issue and contact me.

Hello, @Mlynch4.

I understand the impact of any delay in resolving this on-going issue with the Sales Tax enter. Currently, our product engineers are working on two investigations to resolve this on-going concern.

  • INV - 45511 Sales tax center not loading - asking for another state filing frequency
  • INV - 45264 States not showing up in sales tax center, blank page upon trying to edit state sales tax settings

That being said, let me route you to our Customer Care Team. This way you'd be added to the affected user's list. Once updates are released, it will be applied directly to your account. Also, you'd received an email notification about it.

Here's how to contact us:

  1. Click the Help on the top right.
  2. Select the Contact Us button
  3. Enter your concern.
  4. Click Let's talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us through, Start a chat or Get a callback

Just provide your full name, updated email address and the investigation number. For more detailed information about the support we offer at Intuit and its availability, you can browse this article: Support hours and types

The Community always has your back and would also be happy to help with your questions as well. I’m just a few clicks away should you need anything.

I have a case number already since 6/8.

Every reply from QB includes HOW To instructions but not for the issues I am having.

I am exploring other accounting options as I am very frustrated.

I requested a supervisor call me when speaking to a customer service rep last week and still no call has come and the issues are ongoing. Taxes center is broken and needs to be fixes.

You do not have a HOW TO for this.

Hi, Mlynch4.

I want to make sure you'll be guided to the right support. I'd like to check this for you and get it taken care of myself. However, as much as I would like to get this handled directly, the case number requires pulling up your account information, which I am unable to do in this public forum.

Also, as mentioned by my peer above, we're aware and verified that other users getting this issue as well.

I know you've already called in. Nonetheless, I still suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Support to have your case number re-investigated. A phone agent has the appropriate looks, like screen sharing, and help you add or edit the tax rates.

You'll first have to review our support hours to ensure they can assist you on time. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the upper right.
  2. Select Contact Us
  3. Enter your specific payroll concern in the What can we help you with? box.
  4. Click Let's talk
  5. Choose to Get a callback.
  6. Enter your contact info.
  7. Select Confirm my call.

We are experiencing a rotating gray circle when we attempt to open the Taxes button on the left side of the main screen.  We have seen that others have sent you this issue and that your engineers are working on it.  Please advise when this is resolved.

Thanks for getting this to our attention, @mcollik,

Yes, there is currently an ongoing issue when opening the Sales Tax tab. Our engineers are already investigating the cause of this unresponsive page. We don't have the exact turn around time on when this will be fixed. Rest assured, our support team sends an update about the status rolled out to everyone in stages. Once available, you will be notified through email.

In the meantime, I would recommend giving our Quickbooks Online Support Team a quick call to add you to the list of affected users. You can have them add you to the ticket number INV-49957.

In the meantime, try the the recommended workaround to access your account in private browsing. Unexpected behaviors in QuickBooks Online can be brought about by problems in the web pages. This method prevents cookies from being stored on your computer, making it a great place to identify browser problems. Use any of these keyboard shortcuts:

Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N
Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
Safari: press Command Shift N

If it works, clear the browser's cache. This removes the history or log files so you can start with a clean slate.

We appreciate your patience while this is being worked on. Feel free to reach out again if you have any questions about QuickBooks. I'll be right here to help.
