Users will need to log in to the web version to use the time tracking feature. It's currently not available in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.
You might also want to use TSheets or look for a third-party time tracking app in the App Store. You can go to the Apps menu in QuickBooks Online or visit these websites:

I'm completely confused by why Intuit will not add this to the mobile app. I'm guessing because they want to sell us another solution. They have tsheets or whatever it is where it is totally mobile friendly but they won't add it to our QB Plus membership. The last thing I want is yet another 3rd party subscription or another fee from Intuit. I think it's time to move on. I've been waiting for this for years and they just refuse to add it. It is such a simple form and could be added to mobile with very little effort.
Extremely frustrated with how Intuit has handled this.

I too am specifically waiting for this feature. this simple feature will streamline my time capture and job costing. Please include the ability to add a photo on time sheet entries.
Add my name to the list of wishing we had this functionality. I don’t need another software package to manage, I don’t even need a week or day view. I just need a way to enter and not lose my time when working off my phone.

Let me raise this concern to our developers to take care of this issue. In the meantime, you can consider tracking time for unlimited projects free for one user. The pricing does change a bit depending upon which plan you choose.

Having an option to updates, such as use time tracking feature in QuickBooks Mobile App is a great idea to apply in our program.
Our product developers have a massive roadmap. To apply new features based on the functionality that works best for most users. I'll take note of this request and making it my top priority to reach our developers.

I started this thread and again, can't believe this is still not part of the QB Mobile App. I just signed up for TSheets to see what it is and of course, it's not really helpful. I'm a partner in a design firm. I'm out at clients or away from my desk often. I just want to hop on my phone, login to QB and add time for something I'm working on, have worked on, worked with a client on location, etc. TSheets seems to be a mobile Time Clock for employees. Just doesn't seem helpful.
Maybe I'm just missing it. But I truly think the only reason you're not adding time tracking to the mobile app is that you want to sell us something else. That is a shame. I can add time in the Online App and the QuickBooks Online for Mac, but nope, not on the mobile app. Sorry, buy something else from us. Not cool.

It would be great to be able to do time tracking on the mobile app. I'll be sending feedback to our product engineers.
For now, you can open QuickBooks Online on your mobile browser. Then, do the time tracking from there.

I just want to point out that yes, you can login to QBO on your phone browser and at first, it looks optimized for a phone. Then go ahead and click on Single Time Activity. Look at that, not optimized for a phone. I'm a web designer in a small studio. If we left a form like that on any of our client's sites, we'd never hear the end of it. How long would it take one of your many, many, developers to put in a few media queries to make the form work on mobile? 20 minutes? 30?
Come on. QBO doesn't want us tracking time on our phones. They want us to buy TSheets. This is about as simple of a request one could make. Just make the form mobile ready.

Completely agree... tsheets is just overkill for small agencies that just want to log time manually when away from their desk. I think I've tried about a dozen 3rd party trial apps and most have too many features, are too expensive, or just miss the mark on a simple time logging feature.
I've been using Harvest which has a nice UI, but doesn't sync with QBO directly on their products/services lists or client list. It's just a one-way push when you are ready to make an invoice.
Minute7 is another one I'm considering switching to because it does sync these items and they don't seem to overwhelm you with unneeded features. Its interface though could be GREATLY improved. QBO should integrate something like this on their own APP for simple time charging to projects. Like most people on this thread, I am surprised that QBO is this late to the game. I too may consider another solution other than QBO if I can get this functionality in one package. My only concern would be exporting old data from QBO to a new solution.
I like QBO and have been a member of QB for probably 20 yrs, but totally agree that tsheets is just another way to force a lot of QBO users into paying more with an add-on.
One of the main reasons I signed up for the essentials version of Quickbooks online was for the ability to have multiple users access and input their own time sheets using the time tracking feature - as advertised. I am incredibly disappointed to discover that this is not possible for our employees to do so on the QuickBooks Online Mobile App. Instead, they are required to log in to QBO on their mobile browsers to view a very small and poorly formatted web interface where they must enter their information. The online time sheets formatting when opened on a mobile browser is horrible. Why the ability to enter time sheets is not optimized for, or even available on the app is beyond me. I am very disappointed with my purchase, and have discovered through multiple online forums now that I am not alone in this request. Thousands of users would take advantage of this feature - would be a very simple adjustment to the interface of the app as well. Please forward this request to the developer and engineering teams so this can be taken care of. Please also reply with a solution to my situation, as the value I assumed I would receive for my subscription was clearly misrepresented.

Thanks I guess. Again, seems so simple. Not a deeply complicated form compared to most of QB. I still think it must be some other motivation to continually keep this feature from the app or even the Responsive Site.
But, I guess there's not much we can do. Hopefully more and more people will see these posts and push the developers to take care of this.
Exactly my issue. Don't advertise the time tracking if it is an afterthought and ignored anything mobile. I don't know if Intuit knows this, but people use their phones a lot. Wink-Wink.

I hear you and realize the importance of having the option to have a time tracking on the mobile app. I'll do my part and personally submit this request to our developers, so they can assess the suggestion and put it under consideration.

I too just signed up for QB online at a cost of well over a grand for the plus and payroll feature to find that I can't even track time on the app.....This is a big problem for businesses operating in the digital age.......and based on all the replys here it seems like they created this problem to sell Tsheets at an additional cost....not cool for a product that is a the top of the cost spectrum already for small business accounting software.
I just downloaded the app to discover that I can’t do this. How frustrating. I used the website in my mobile browser in the timesheet view and it was a nightmare. I’m also a web designer and front end web developer... come on Quickbooks. Get it right. And no, I do NOT want Tsheets.
I’m satisfied with the built-in functionality for time tracking, just want to be able to do it from my phone too. I shouldn’t have to purchase a third party app to do this.
I’m satisfied with the functionality that QuickBooks online has. It’s just silly they don’t have a user friendly way to use that feature on a mobile device. I shouldn’t have to pay for a third party service or add on more functionality than I need (Tsheets) to do something this basic.
