Total the quantity on purchase order

Does anyone know how to total the quantities of items ordered on a purchase order?  The Subtotal function totals only the dollar amounts.  Is there another function that also totals quantities?

Total the quantity on purchase order

Glad to have you here in the Community, @cagey87.

At this time, there isn't an option to total the quantities of each line item on a purchase order.

I can see how beneficial it is for you and your business to total the quantities of each item. But I want to let you know that your voice matters and I'm submitting feedback directly to our product engineers for consideration.

For now, you can visit our blog site so you'll be able to get the latest news about QuickBooks and what our Product Care Team is working on.

If you have other concerns, just comment below or post again. I'll be sure to get back to you. Have a good one.

You may be able to get the total you want with one of the QuickBooks calculation add-ons, either FormCalc SST for QuickBooks, or CCRQInvoice (Google them). I'm pretty certain at least one of those products could provide the quantity total for you.

Total the quantity on purchase order

Hello there, joan ho. I appreciate you for joining this thread.

Let me share some information about generating the total quantity in the delivery order in QuickBooks Online.

If you're referring to let the system generate the total quantity for all items, we're unable to do it for now. QuickBooks only shows the total quantity per item. The ability to display the total quantity will be a great feature.

In the meantime, we can look for a third-party application where we can use this feature and integrate it with QuickBooks. You can visit this link to help you find one: QuickBooks Apps Store.

Also, you may want to visit our blog website so you'll be updated on the new features added in QuickBooks and find out the enhanced features.

If you have more something to ask about QuickBooks, know that I'm always here to help. Take care and stay safe.

Total the quantity on purchase order

this really needs to be taken care of - We are new to Quickbooks and after spending on this new software we are thinking of ditching it because we and our customers need the line item quantity totals!!! If not you are losing a customer - so sad the rest of it is great.

Total the quantity on purchase order

Hi Shane2023,

Having the option to count the total quantities on the transaction would be a great feature.

I'm taking note of this suggestion and pass it along to our product developers. This way, they'll be aware of the feature needed and consider this in one of the coming updates.

I'd also suggest sending a product suggestion to our Development Team so they can consider adding the form in future updates. You can do this by:

  1. Clicking the Help menu and then selecting Send Feedback Online.
  2. Hit Product suggestion.
  3. Enter your suggestion.
  4. Click Send Feedback.

In the meantime, you can look for an application that helps total the quantities of the items. Feel free to visit this page to look for one: QuickBooks Desktop Applications.

If you want to customize the template of the sales forms, you can pin this reference:  Use and customize form templates.

They didn't implement this. It's March 2023. I can see online that users asked for this functionality back in November 2018. Unreal.
