Transfer custom template from PC to Mac

I recently moved my QB from PC to Mac. Eveything transferred except my custom templates for invoices and purchase orders. When exported on PC these files are saved as .DES and are unable to be imported into my company file on the Mac. Is it possible to import these or do I have to rebuild them from scratch? I did try renaming the file as .layoutdesigner but the files are still an incompatible format.

Thanks!

Transfer custom template from PC to Mac

Welcome to the Community, @Devinunit.

Customized sales forms templates created in QuickBooks Desktop confined to the company file in where they were created. Hence, these can't be imported.

You'll want to use and customize form templates in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. Here's how:

  1. Select the form type (invoice or sales receipt) you’d like to customize.
  2. Choose the Current Template drop-down menu.
  3. Select New Template, then choose a template to customize.
  4. Then, select Edit Current Template.

Once done, you can follow the steps to add form fields, images, and elements in this article: Use form templates in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. It also includes steps to customize and print an envelope for your sales forms.
