I'm here to ensure you can find and restore your QuickBooks 2015 company file in your new computer, b2becky.

When you transfer company files to another computer, make sure they are running the same QuickBooks Desktop version and release. I'd suggest upgrading your QuickBooks 2015 to the 2020 company file. This way, you'll be able to restore and open it in the 2020 edition.

Before we start, you need to upgrade every 3-year interval. From QuickBooks 2015 to 2018, then finally 2020 using the trial account.

  1. Make sure all users are logged out of your company file.
  2. Open your QuickBooks Desktop 2020.
  3. Go to the File menu.
  4. Select Open or Restore Company.
  5. Click Open a company file, then Next.
  6. Browse your company file, then select Open
  7. Sign in to your company file as an admin user.
  8. Before you upgrade, the system automatically creates a backup of your existing company file. Select Change this default location to save the backup in a specific folder.
  9. Select Update Now to start the process.
  10. Click Done.

Once done, you can now continue performing your task. You can visit this article for the complete list of things that you can do in the system such as setting up your direct deposit, inventory, and payments: Learn Intuit product basics and get set up for success. It also contains topics like payroll and bank reconciliation.

Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.
