Two companies under one QB account

My cient has two companies in one QB account, identified by separate classes.  They want to separate out one company, so that either company manager has no access to the information of the other company.

Hello there, @SBDC_PR!

You have the option to set a special password for your company file. I'm here to help you accomplish this other user cant access your company file.

To start with, creating a special password allows you to secure and only you can access your company file.

That being said, here's how to set up your password:

  1. Go to Company.
  2. Select Users.
  3. Choose Set Up Users and Roles.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Enter your password in the Password field.
  6. Select OK.
  7. Click Close.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about your password set up: Stay Logged in to QuickBooks Company File.

Lastly, you can check this helpful article for your future reference: Password Security for QuickBooks Desktop.

I'll be always around here in the Community if you have any questions. Just leave it in the comment sections down below.
