Join nowI have already updated my company from QB Desktop 2017 and installed QB 2020. I then opened QB 2020, updated and opened the company file no problem. But after updating QB 2020 to the most recent version, I am now unable to open the company file as it is asking to update it again. When I said no, I got error message:
Unrecoverable error
Code: 02546 71696
Maybe say "yes" to update it (?)
Hello @uncoat,
Let perform a few troubleshooting steps to get rid of the error message so you can get back to business in no time.
To start with, unrecoverable errors are caused mostly by the installation file after updating QuickBooks. Since you already installed the latest version, let's suppress QuickBooks as our initial troubleshooting. Let me show you how.
In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about the troubleshooting steps and you may need to continue the sequence if the issue persists: Unrecoverable Error: General Troubleshooting Steps.
Lastly, I've also included this helpful article to get a better view of the features you can use with the latest released installed: What’s new and improved in the latest updates to QuickBooks Desktop 2020 and Enterprise 20.0?
If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know by leaving any comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand.
