I'll share the steps to fix the Unrecoverable Error in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Before we start the troubleshooting steps, you'll want to update QBDT to the latest release. This is to make sure your file is updated.
After running the update, run the QuickBooks File Doctor from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This tool help fix critical error in the program. Here's how to get there.
The scan time will depend on your file size, it can take up to 5 minutes. Once the scan finishes, restart your computer, open your QuickBooks file, and then edit your invoice template again.
To learn about the tools, check out this article: Fix company file and network issues with QuickBooks File Doctor.
I'm also attaching this link here to help you manage customer-related tasks. It has our general customer topics with articles: Topics about your company's income and customers.
Let me know how it goes after trying the recommended steps, as I want to ensure this is resolved for you. Take care and have a nice day ahead.
