Updating Qty and Printing Tags

Hi there, JoeAce.

I checked our records and I couldn't find any related reports about this error at the moment. This error can be caused by either of the following reasons:

  • Point of Sale Database Manager that may not be running
  • Damaged or improperly installed Microsoft.NET framework

Let's make sure that your POS is updated to the latest maintenance release. Go to the product updates page, make sure Point of Sale is selected as your product, and follow the instructions to install a Manual update. You may have to reboot afterward.

You might also need to uninstall and reinstall .NET framework and QuickBooks Point of Sale in case you're still getting the same error. Here's how:

  1. Uninstall QuickBooks Point of Sale
  2. Uninstall .NET Framework 4.0 and 4.5.
    1. On the Programs & Features window, select Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 (or 4.5)
    2. Select Uninstall, then click Next.
    3. Follow instructions to uninstall the application, and then proceed with Step 5 below to reinstall it. Make sure to reboot your computer after uninstalling .NET framework. Note: If you encounter any errors while uninstalling .NET Framework, please contact a qualified IT professional or Microsoft as this is a Microsoft component that interacts with the operating system, not just QuickBooks.
  3. Install .NET Framework 4.5 (4.0 Client and Extended built in.
    1. Download .NET Framework 4.5 (.NET Framework 4.5 is a combination of the .NET Framework 4.0 Client and Extended)from the Microsoft's website.
    2. Save the file to your desktop, then double-click the file and follow the instructions on the screen to install.
    3. Reboot after the installation.
    4. If you encounter any errors while installing .NET Framework, please contact a qualified IT professional or Microsoft.
  4. Reinstall Point of Sale.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Updating Qty and Printing Tags

Hi JenoP, thanks for the quick reply.  I'll try this.  We were able to replicate the issue to another machine.  Currently, we have 4.6 .NET version.  Running on Windows 10.  We also have the current R20 update for the POS 12 Multi Store on all of the machines.

BUT - I will say that this may become the solution.  We will try tomorrow and update our thread.  Thank You again!
