The option to delete those classes is unavailable, ykjoseph.

To reduce the usage of your classes, you'll have to make it as inactive.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select All Lists.
  2. Select Classes.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow on the class you wish to inactive.
  4. Select Make inactive.

To check if you've successfully reduce the usage:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Click Account and Settings.
  3. Select the Usage tab.
  4. Scroll down to Classes and locations.
  5. Then, Done.

If you have other concerns about Class, I'm always here.

Re: URGENT: To reduce usage of classes

Thank you for your reply.

But still I have a problem. Even though I made some classes inactive, usage is not reduced.

I don't know why some classes show "won't reduce usage" and some show "reduces usage". I attached the picture. Please find it out.

Re: URGENT: To reduce usage of classes

I appreciate you for sharing a screenshot, ykjoseph.

It's possible that these classes were created from an integrated third party app. You can only reduce class usage by inactivating the manually created classes.

You can check this article for more details: What are usage limits in QuickBooks Online?

I'll be around.

Re: URGENT: To reduce usage of classes

I appreciate you for kind response.

But still I don't know well because some of manually created classes with QB online also cannot reduce usage. Very difficult to me. TT

Re: URGENT: To reduce usage of classes

Thanks for getting back to us, @ykjoseph.

You'll have the "won't reduce usage" option if QuickBooks Online (QBO) automatically generates classes at sign up or from the usage of services. You can refer to these following reason:

  • Sales tax
  • Shipping
  • Multi-Currency

Also, if classes were generated by QuickBooks Services that you or someone with permission has connected to your account, such as your payroll. It can also be one of your imported classes from QuickBooks Desktop.

You can also refer to the article above provided by my colleague SarahannC for more detailed information.

Please leave a comment below if you have any further questions. I'll be around to help you. Have a great day!
