Hi there, Alixes. I'll walk you through a few scenarios that can help address your concern.
Just to clarify, when you mentioned the As of Date field, are you referring to adding an inventory item using the QuickBooks Online app? If so, the QBO app for Android currently doesn’t have that field, which means you can add an item without needing to enter that information.
On the other hand, if you’re accessing QBO through a browser on a tablet, you should be able to select any date when creating an item. To ensure everything works smoothly, try signing out and back in to refresh your session.
But, if you’re running into issues when adjusting an inventory item, keep in mind that QBO will display an error if the adjustment date you chose is earlier than the item's established As of Date. To avoid this, ensure the adjustment date is after the item's As of Date.

If you’ve forgotten the date, here’s how to check:
- In the My Apps, click Sales & Get Paid, then tick the Products & Services.
- Select the item you want to check and hit Edit.
- In the Inventory info, choose the Starting value.
- Check the date in the As of date column.
