VERIFY

i do a full verification and backup twice daily.  from time to time, (about 3 to 4 times per month), the verify will "find some errors that need to be fixed". --it won't list the error(s).  If I hit the cancel button and close the software and then re-open the software and run it again--it doesn't find any errors.  Can I assume this is a "false" error find on the verification?  I do not have a traditional PC with a hard drive--I have a Windows 10 "workstation" with a SSD drive.

I can share some information about how Verify and Rebuild utilities work, LANDYRAY.

 

Verifying and rebuilding data is good practice to maintain a healthy QuickBooks company file. Normally, the program will automatically show the list of errors once it detects possible data integrity issues.

 

Based on your computer set up, we can assume that this isn't the culprit of the issue since it's recommended to store QuickBooks data on solid-state drives for best performance. To isolate this case, you can run the Quick Fix my File function from our QuickBooks Tool Hub. This will help you resolve data errors and unusual behaviors right away.

 

 For the best experience, we recommend using Tool Hub on Windows 10, 64-bit. When you're ready, follow these steps to download QuickBooks Tool Hub:
 

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Save the file in your local folder.
  4. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  5. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  6. When the install finishes, double-click the icon to open the application.

Once done, it's time to run Quick Fix my File:
 

  1. From the tool hub, select Company File Issues.
  2. Click Quick Fix my File.
  3. Select OK when it completes.
  4. Open QuickBooks Desktop again.
