Our inventory is very messed up and I'm trying to void old Inventory Adjustments. When I attempt to void, I get the message:
Problem: Creating or modifying this transaction will cause one or more builds to become pending.
Solution: If you want to proceed with this transaction, click Mark Pending to save your changes. You can check the Pending Builds Report to see which builds are pending.
So I click Mark Pending, then I get a window that says Working: Record Transaction.
Then I get an error message. Error Encountered: QuickBooks is unable to complete this operation and needs to restart. Quickbooks will restart automatically.
Then I click OK and it closes and does not restart automatically.
It's happened at least 8 times in a row. I tried to Delete instead of Void, and got the same result.
Thanks for posting again in the Community, @Ess Dee.
It's possible that the error messages you're getting are related to damage. In this case, let's run the QuickBooks built-in diagnostic and repair tools called rebuild and verify data utilities. These tools will repair and notify you of any possible data damage within the file.
Here's how:
If QB detected no problem with your data, hit OK. However, if it finds an issue, you will be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors. Choose Close, then perform the steps below. Here's how:

Thanks for your reply. I followed these steps, some errors were found. I did the rebuild again and verified data and no errors were found. But I'm still having the same result as before.
Hi there, @Ess Dee.
I appreciate you for performing the verify and rebuild process and for letting us know the result. I have some additional troubleshooting steps to help fix and isolate the error you're getting.
First, make sure to update QuickBooks to the latest release. This way, we can ensure that your software is up to date and have the latest features and fixes.
Here's how:
When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks. When prompted, accept the option to install the new release.
Once completed, try voiding the adjustment again.
If you're getting the issue, I recommend running the repair tool. This tool can as well help fix common errors while working with QuickBooks. For detailed instructions, you can use this article: Repair your QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.

Ok, I had our IT provider run the repair, and it did not solve the issue.
