We'd like to add the Quantity of items sold into our P&L report, alongside or underneath financial amounts. Is that possible in QBO?

No it is not, and if it was it really would not tell you much if you think about it.  Unless of course everything sells for the same amount

I'm here to share details about tracking the quantity of items you sold through your Profit and Loss (P&L) report in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @Rpm47. This way, you'll be able to determine the steps you need to take care of this.

Currently, adding the quantity of items you sold into your P&L report isn't possible. However, you can select the financial amount to view the account's Transaction report. Then, customize it to add the Qty column. Let me guide you how.

1. Go to the Reports menu.
2. Select Profit and Loss.
3. Choose the financial amount you want to view.
4. In the Transaction Report window, click the Gear icon above the report.
5. Click the box next to Qty.

I've attached screenshots below that shows the third to fifth steps.

On the other hand, you can also pull up two sets of reports (i.e. P&L and Sales by Product/Service Detail) to extract the information you need. Then, export them to an Excel file. Get the quantity of items sold from the Sales by Product/Service Detail report and transfer it to P&L. 

Financial reports in QBO provides the overall information about your business. You can customize them to focus on the details that matter the most. Hi, thanks for confirmimg it isn’t possible, thought i might have missed something.  And I’m wanting to report the number of subscriptions sold, which are all the same price.
