we have QB desktop 2023 bill for $649 to renew!!!!!!Why

we have QB Desktop Pro Plus 2023. we just got a bill for $649. to renew our QB!!!! we are a very small non-profit.  we don't use it for payroll and don't have any linked bank accounts. i assumed we purchase QB Desktop that did not require yearly renewal fees.  I have QBD on my mac for another Compassionate Friends non-profit  chapter that i volunteer for. it was a once and done purchase that i dont have to renew. i've been told by many people in the Facebook support  group for QB non-profits that we should not have fees since we dont use any of the online stuff  please clarify!

As of QB Desktop 2022, Intuit only offers subscription licensing. It's possible that you have QB Desktop Mac 2021 or earlier with a non-subscription license. You can migrate data from QB Desktop 2023 Pro Plus to QB Desktop with a non subscription to lower your cost if required.

Hi there, @kt4ever624. I'll share details about your billing concerns in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

I agree with 4Gal that QuickBooks Desktop 2022 onwards is now subscription-based compared to the previous versions that have a one-time license with a three-year life cycle. I understand that the amount can be too high compared to the work you only need to do within the application. However, QuickBooks has assured that with this cost, users can smoothly handle their businesses and can cope with the demand for new features or requested functionalities to improve their performance.

You can visit this article to learn more about what QBDT 2023 offers: What’s new in QuickBooks Desktop 2023.

If there's anything else that you need clarification about or assistance with the application, please don't hesitate to add a reply to this thread. Stay safe!
