We pay yearly for enchanced payroll module. All of a sudden I am being charged monthly for a service

We paid for our enchanced payroll service on 3/6/2024 $549.82  Now all of a sudden we are being charged monthly for an online payroll service which we did not order. We are being charged $51.96 per month. How do we cancel the monthly charge.

If you're referring to a QuickBooks Online Payroll subscription, you can cancel your subscription while signed in.
 

Here's how:
 

  1. Sign in to the QuickBooks Online account with a web browser as the Master or Company Administrator.
  2. Use your Gear icon, then go to Account and settings.
  3. Access the Billing & subscription section.
  4. In your Payroll area, select Cancel.
  5. Fill out the online cancelation form to complete your cancelation.

 

In the event you purchased QuickBooks Online from an Accountant, you'll need to sign in with an admin account or contact your Accountant to cancel the subscription.

 

If it's a QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced, Standard, or Basic subscription, you can cancel through your company file:
 

  1. From the top menu bar, go to Employees, My Payroll Service, then Account/Billing Info.
  2. Sign in using your Intuit Account login credentials and the Account Portal screen will open.
  3. Select Cancel Service and follow your on-screen steps to finish canceling.

 

In the event you're working with a QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Assisted plan, your steps to cancel will be a bit different. You can refer to our Cancel Your QuickBooks Payroll Subscription article for further information on canceling payroll subscriptions.
