Buy nowI was originally signed up for this, QBO was supposed to file the reports and send in the payments. QBO took $5000+ out of my cheking account to pay my NYS-45, quarterly report. It never made it to NYTAX Dept. The report was never filed either. They kept the money for 7 months. They never did admit that they had taken it. I got proof from the bank and sent it to them. Meanwhile, I was penalized for not sending the report and not paying the money due with the report. You know, New York's favorite words: Penalty and Interest. So I paid what was owed and the penalty/interest. So, I went to the New York State Attorney General, my lawyer, and the New York State Consumer Protection Agency. They NEVER admitted that they took out the money, seven months later, it mysteriously showed up in my bank account. No apology, no notification or anything. The money was just transferred to my account. I really don't want to go through that again. That is a pretty bad way to treat their customers. I may switch to a different accounting program before the new policy goes into effect. Has anybody else had this problem?
It's absolutely ridiculous. Has anyone at Intuit ever run a small business? Are you not aware that cash flow is the lifeblood of small business? I spoke with a "manager" at Quickbooks online and he literally told me that when upper management decided to make this policy mandatory, all of the lower-management told them it was a bad idea and customers would not like it. He was right--customers like me HATE IT. It's infuriating. Also, if you try and process payroll, a pop-up locks you out of your payroll module until you authorize QB to handle your payroll taxes. I pay for payroll core--yet QBO won't let me process payroll without giving them access to my bank account and control over my payroll taxes. What genius at Intuit thought this would be a great thing for customers? I'm livid.
I think this new policy is outrageous and horrible. QuickBooks is overstepping their role here. I've filed a complaint with the BBB and I recommend we try and get as many of us to do the same.
