Once this option is selected, Windows automatically makes that app the default each time you click on a customer's phone number in QuickBooks Online.
Before that, could you provide more details about the screens where you’re unable to choose an app? Are you using a different browser, or is this related to a specific feature in QuickBooks?
If it's about a different browser and you're unable to choose an app, I suggest resetting the default apps in your Windows settings to regain the option to choose an app. Please note that resetting your default apps may also affect other apps you’ve set as defaults. Afterward, you can reselect the apps when prompted for different actions.

Once you're able to choose an app, I recommend clicking Just once so that you can choose a different app in the future when clicking the customer's phone numbers.
