@DG96

Making a sale and received the payment at the same time as an example POS sales, credit card sales, or cash/check sales.

This transaction will record both revenue and deposit to the bank account both at the same time.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for coming back, DG96.

Allow me to jump into this thread and provide additional clarification to your concern about managing sales receipt in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You got it right! you use a Sales Receipt transaction when you receive the payment from your customer the moment you provide the goods or services.

Here's how to create a sales receipt in case you need reference:

  1. Go to the + New icon.
  2. Select Sales Receipt.
  3. Choose the name of the customer.
  4. Enter sales information, then select Save and close.

To help better understand the use of Sales Receipt in QBO, you can refer to this article: How to Record a Sales Receipt.

I'm adding this link for more information on when to use a sales receipt or an invoice.

Be sure to get back to me if you have follow-up questions. I'm always happy to help. Have a good day!

When is a Sales Receipt used?

Thank you @vpcontroller

So basically when the payment is received at the same time as goods or service provided. Is that correct?
