Why am I paying so much money every year to use software that gets broken every time it's "updated" and spends more time including ads than doing what I need?

Any specific issue?

Setting aside my general aggravation with this software; my specific issue right now is that copy/paste has decided to stop working. But the pop-over ads about quickbooks capital are still working just fine.

Setting aside my general aggravation with this software; copy/paste has decided to stop working (not for the first time following an update) and, of course, talking to actual tech support is not possible. But the good news is that the pop-over ads for Quickbooks Capital are working just fine. Because advertising in software I PAY FOR is exactly what I want.

It isn't the kind of experience that we want you to have, dborell.

We can run some troubleshooting steps to identify why the automation field in QuickBooks isn't working.

To start with, let's open QuickBooks in a private window. It is the best place to identify any browser-related issues. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to open one:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Shift N

If it works, we can go back to a different browser and clear its cache. A piled cache can also be the reason for some unexpected issues on the opened pages.

We can also switch to a different browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.

I've also added this article that talks about QuickBooks Capital: What is QuickBooks Capital?

Feel free to get back to this thread if you need help. Keep safe!

Open you account on the incognito/private browser. Did you encounter the same issue?

I am not using a browser, I'm using the Mac App (version 4.2.1-79). Closing and restarting the app several times seemed to have no effect. But, the next day, the problem mysteriously resolved. I cannot say why the problem started, or why it resolved, but as this is not the first time intermittent problems have arisen, I expect it will happen again. Meaning, Intuit needs to spend less time building ads and pestering me about taking out loans (inside a platform that is PAID for), and more time making sure the software actually WORKS.
